🎶 Musicians Mastermind – Draft Framework

Mission / Purpose

To collaboratively maximize the impact of each participant in fulfilling their soul- and heart-driven artistic expressions — through feedback, accountability, and shared wisdom.

Format

  • Cadence: Biweekly (every 2 weeks), starting Tuesday Sept 23, 2025
  • Duration: ~60 minutes
  • Location: Zoom (recorded for transcription + notes distribution) or in-person when feasible (Alan’s place in Hawkwood?) Or mixed zoom and live.
  • Participants: 3–5 musicians (enough diversity but still intimate). Perhaps Trevor Uruski, Alan Robertson, Rod MacCormack & Tru Starhorse

Meeting Flow

  1. Opening & Centering (5 minutes)
    • Quick grounding (music clip, breath, or intention-setting).
    • Rotate facilitation so everyone develops leadership.
  2. Check-In Round (15 minutes total)
    • Each person gets ~3–5 minutes.
    • Guiding questions:
      • What’s a top 10% win since last meeting?
      • What’s one bottleneck or challenge you’d love help with?
      • What’s the one most important thing that would make everything else easier, more joyful, or redundant?
  3. Focused Spotlight (25 minutes)
    • One or two people get the “hot seat” each meeting.
    • The group listens to a song/idea/video or dives into a career question.
    • Everyone provides feedback through these lenses:
      • What’s working / what’s touching you?
      • Where does this want to go next?
      • What could be simplified / improved?
      • What feels most impactful to focus on?
  4. Brainstorm & Synergy (10 minutes)
    • Open discussion: cross-pollinate ideas, share resources, discuss collaborations.
  5. Commitments & Accountability (5 minutes)
    • Each participant states 1–2 action items for the next meeting.
    • Optionally, a shared doc or Slack/Discord channel to track progress.
  6. Closing (2–3 minutes)
    • Gratitude round / quick reflection.

Shared Resources

  • Shared Folder (Google Drive, Notion, or similar):
    • Alan can generate a meeting transcript and summary with Fireflies.ai
    • Running notes + accountability tracker.
    • Links to each other’s music, projects, and references.
  • Chat Thread (e.g. WhatsApp, Signal, Discord):
    • Quick wins, inspirations, questions between meetings.

Extra Options

Co-Listening Nights: Just listening together to demos/albums with feedback lenses.

Guest Mentors: Invite an outside artist occasionally for perspective.

Mini-Workshops: Short skill shares (e.g. mixing tricks, music video workflow).

Open to feedback! ~Alan
